Mission:  Building young women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.

AHG Creed: As an American Heritage Girl, I promise to be compassionate, helpful, honest, loyal, perserverant, pure, resourceful, respectful, responsible, and reverent.

  • WHERE: Knights of Columbus Hall 
  • TIME: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

  1. Come to a meeting
    • Contact AHG@allsaintsva.org and find out when the next meeting is
    • Talk to the leaders at the meeting and find out more about us
    • If you decide you would like to join our troop, hurray!!! We are so happy to welcome you. Please continue with the following steps to be fully registered
  2. Register on the website
    • Register yourself and your child/children on the AHG Family website using this link: https://www.ahgfamily.org/register/tkrxdxf92bax
    • This is a requirement of AHG National as well as helps us keep track of membership, advancement, forms, etc.
  3. Get signed up with our communications to stay connected
    • If we do not already know, please reach out and let us know you want to join and we will add you to the following;
      • Flocknote: This is the primary means of communication we use. It sends out messages through your email.
      • Calendar: The troop has an electronic calendar through Team Up that will sync with your Apple or Google Calendar.
  4. Fill out medical forms and return them to registrar
    • Fill out the medical form found at the bottom of the page and return it to an AHG Board Member
    • These forms are required by both the Diocese and AHG to participate. These forms will be kept confidential and stored in a secure location
  5. Pay dues
    • (Cost does not need to be a limiting factor for families; assistance is available please reach out to a POC below to discuss.)
    • Dues breakdown:
      • Annual Membership Fee for Youth to American Heritage Girls- $40
        • Paid to AHG National for registration in AHG and AHG insurance for the youth participant
      • Annual Membership Fee for Adult to American Heritage Girls- $38.00
        • Paid to AHG National for registration in AHG and AHG insurance for the adult participant
      • All Saints Troop 1188 Fee – Participation Fee $50
        • Paid to Troop 1188 to cover the cost of troop activities (Awards, Program Cost, etc.)
        • $150 family max
  6. Buy Uniform and Handbook
    • Can be purchased at the AHGStore: https://store.americanheritagegirls.org/
    • We are utilizing the Polo Shirts, Neckerchief, and Vests/Sash for attaching our awards, but the tee shirts (Class B) can be worn as well.
    • You can purchase the white polo shirt, pants/shorts from another location if you wish.
    • National or regional AHG events require the full Class A uniform for participation, which additionally includes blue or khaki colored shorts or pants.
  7. Become VIRTUS Certified and sign up to volunteer
    • At least one adult from each family needs to get VIRTUS trained through the church. This involves a standard background check facilitated by All Saints and a 3 hour VIRTUS training class which will help to ensure the safety of all our participants and allow the adult to interact with the kids. These classes are held all over the diocese and can be accessed as soon as the background check is complete.
    • Use this link to the All Saints Youth Ministry webpage to learn more about VIRTUS and begin the process of enrolling: https://allsaintsyouthministry.org/virtus/
      • For position title, use “Scout Leader”
    • At least one adult from each family is required to volunteer for the troop.  These opportunities range from  “behind the scenes” to unit leader and everything in between.  If the volunteer position involves interaction with the kids, this adult must be VIRTUS trained as above. Talk to a committee member to see what positions are open.
